Force Majeure

Salam my baby insyirah,

I pray to Allah that youre safe with your mother wherever you are. Through some friends, I saw some of your latest pictures and Alhamdulillah, you look well. It was far from SMS i received from your mom saying that you're very ill and you died last year. Also very different from sms i received from mom's friend saying that you have blisters all over your leg and face. In the pictures, you look happy and healthy.

You have grown teeth and you seem to have long legs like me. You're very fair like your mom but your face resembles me in some ways too. For all that, Alhamdulillah. It's been a year and two months since i last saw you and I continue to pray that you're happy wherever you are.

The past few days, quite a few natural disaster has happened. the big ones are hurricane in manila, philipphines and earth quake in padang, indonesia. in indonesia, more than 500 people died from the earthquake. these are some signs of nature not being in good shape. I read a book called "the inconvinient truth" from Al-Gore and his movie on the same issue called "the eleventh hour". He highlighted that with the current development, human will cause destruction to the earth very fast, via global warming.

human development has caused and is causing "bad" gases to be released into the air, from our vehicles, power plants and other machineries. thes gases like carbon dioxide and sulphur oxide linger in the atmosphere and trap the heat produced by sun. the more the bad gas, the higher earth temperature will be. ice caps will start melting, sea water level rising, overall temperature increase and will cause other natural disasters like whats happening now.

InsyaAllah, im doing my part by living in a lean environment. reducing waste and using a compact car. do a bit recyling here and there. i only hope that i do not leave you to live in a problematic earth in the future.

I went to see the housing expo in likas today. i think i found a simple apartment in kota kinabalu (sabah) for us to buy. relatively very cheap. im also in the process of buying an apartment in damansara (kuala lumpur) for us too. This apartment in KL was feature in todays newpaper. InsyaAllah i hope i made the right decision.

insyaAllah, someday we'll be together again.

i love you so much baby,
Abah
